Argent was an English Hard Rock Band founded in 1969 by Rod Argent (Keyboards, Vocals Ex The Zombies), Russ Ballard (Guitar, Vocals Ex The Roulettes, Unit 4+2), Jim Rodford (Bass, Vocals Ex The Mike Cotton Sound), and Robert Henrit (Drums Ex The Roulettes).  They were best known for their 1972 song "Hold Your Head Up", they also recorded the original version of "God Gave Rock And Roll To You", written by Russ Ballard, which was covered by Kiss in 1991, and "Liar" on Argent's first album became a hit for Three Dog Night.
