Luke Steele was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and moved to Perth, Western Australian.  He is a member of a musical family, His father, Rick, is a Blues Guitarist and Harmonica player, his sister, Katy, is the Vocalist of Perth Indie Rock Band Little  Birdy, his brother, Jake, also joined The Sleeply Jackson in 2008 playing computer samples.  He recorded his first solo album and released in 2022, revealed more personal and introspective style in the acoustic guitar.
