Colosseum were an English Pioneering Progressive Jazz Rock Band, mixing Progressive Rock and Jazz base improvisation, formed in 1968 by Jon Hiseman (Drums), Dick Heckstall-Smith (Tenor Saxophone Ex Graham BondJohn Mayall's Bluesbreakers), Tony Reeves (Bass Ex John Mayall's Bluesbreakers), Dave Greenslade (Organ), Jim Roche (Guitar).  Colosseum were one of the most influential of the early British Progressive Rock Bands.

Live is a live album by Colosseum, was released in 1992 by Sequel Records (Origin released on September 17, 1971 by Bronze (UK) and Warner Bros. (USA), it was one of the band's most commercially successful albums, and reached No. 17 in UK Albums Chart for six weeks.  This album was recorded live at Manchester University on March 18, 1971 and The Big Apple, Brigton on March 27, 1971.
