The Teen Kings were an American Rockabilly and Country Band from Wink,Texas, formed by Roy Orbison (Lead Guitar, Vocals), James Morrow (Electric Mandolin), Jack Kennelly (Bass), Billy Pat "Spider" Ellis ( Drums), Richard "Head" West (Piano), and Charles "Slob" Evans (Upright Bass), called The Wink Westerners, and transitined to Rhythm & Blues, and Rock & Roll, renaming themselves The Teen Kings in 1956.  Signed with Sam Philips at Sun Records in 1956 and released the Hit Single "Ooby Dooby".  Split up  in late 1956 due to disputes over royalties and writing credits, prompting Roy Orbison to pursue a Solo Career.
