Jack Scott was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to Italian-American parents. He spent his early childhood in Windsor, across the river from Detroit, Michigan. When he was 10, his family moved to Hazel Park, Michigan. He grew up listening to Hillbilly Music and was taught to play the guitar by his mother. He became the first white Rock & Roll Star to Emerge from Detroit, Michigan, blend of Rockabilly and Soulful Country Ballads. He achieved massive chart success on the late 1950s and early 1960s. He tracked as one of the most prolific hitmakers of his era, tracking 19 Billboard Hot 100 hits in just 41 months, which only a few artists like The Beatles. He was unique among early Rock & Roll Artists for writing early all of his own material.
