Deep Purple are an England Hard Rock Band formed in Hertford in 1968, the original line-up by Jon Lord (Keyboards, Organ), Ritchie Blackmore (Guitar), Rod Evans (Vocals), Nick Simper (Bass) and Ian Paice (Drums), The band has gone through many line-up changes, but their most commercially successful from the send line-up (Mark II), featured Ian Gillan (Vocals), Joh Lord (Organ, Keyboards), Ritchie Blackmore (Guitar), Roger Glover (Bass), and Ian Paice (Drums), and Mark III line-up, features Joh Lord (Organ, Keyboards), Ritchie Blackmore (Guitar), David Coverdale (Vocals), Glenn Hughes (Bass), and Ian Paice (Drums). Deep Purple are considered to be one of the pioneers among Hard Rock and Heavy Metal as well as Progressive Rock Band, but the band's sound to Hard Rock in 1970, together with Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, and have been referred as The British Hard Rock and Heavy Metal from early to mid of 70s, and in 1975 were listed in Guinness Book of World Records as "The Globe's Loudest Band". In 2012, Deep Purple were nominated for induction into The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.
