Longbranch Pennywhistle was an American Country Rock/Folk Rock Band, formed in 1968 by Glenn Frey (Vocals, Guitar, later The Eagles), and J.D. Souther (Vocals, Guitar).  The two attracted attention were signed by Amos Records for only one Album.  Glenn Frey was soon playing in Linda Ronstadt's band and forming The Eagles with Don Henley, Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner.  While J.D. Souther wrote or co-wrote several of The Eagles' most popular songs.
