Joshua Redman is an American Saxophonist and Composer, he was born in Berkeley, California and grew up in a musical family as the son of respected Tenor Saxophonist Dewey Redman.  In, he won the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition.. He cites John Coltrane, Omette Coleman, Cannonball Adderley, his father Dewey Redman, as well as The Beatles, Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, Earth, Wind & Fire, Prince, The Police and Led Zeppelin as musical influences.
