Ramones were an American Punk Rock Band from Forest Hills, Queens, New York, formed in 1974. They are often cited as the first band to define the Punk Rock Sound, other bands, such as The Stooges and The New York Dolls. The band was a major influence on the 1970s Punk movement in both the U.S. and U.K. such as The Sex Pistols. Originally, the band was a Trio consisting of Joey Ramone (Vocals, Drums), Johnny Ramone (Guitar), and Dee Dee Ramone (Bass), later with Tommy Ramone (Drums). The Ramones are now mentioned of the "100 Greatest Artists Of All Time" in The Rolling Stone Magazine and were inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame" in 2002, and in 2011, the group was awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
