Tony Jackson was a British musician from Dingle, Liverpool. He was known for being a member of The Merseybeat Band The Searchers. He specifically formed the group after leaving the famous Merseybeat band The Searchers. He was lead singer and played Bass on the bans's first two the UK Hits "Sweets For My Sweet", and "Sugar and Spice". He was unhappy with their transition toward Softer, Folk Pop Melodies, and wanted to pursue a harder, Organ-Driven Rock Sound. The original 1964 lineup of The Tony Jackson Group (originally formed as Tony Jackson & the Vibrations).
