Stacey Kent is an American Jazz Singer from South Orange, New Jersey.  She attended Newark Academy In Livingston, New Jersey and graduated from Sarah Lawrence College.  She travelled to England after graduation to study music at Guildhall School Of Music and Drama in London, where she met saxophonist Jim Tomlinson, whom she married on August 9, 1991.  On her childhood days spent listening to the traditional beauty of Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole influenced her.  In 1990s, she began her professional career.  She got the following Awards, British Jazz Award in 2001, BBC Jazz Award, Album Of The Year for The Lyric in 2006, Ordre des Arts et Des Lettres in 2009 and Grammy Award nomination, Best Vocal Jazz Album, Breakfast on the Morning Tram in 2009.
