The Long Ryders Are an American Alternative Country and Paisley Underground Band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1983 by Sid Griffin (Vocals, Guitar), Stephen McCarthy (Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo), Des Brewer (Bass), later replaced by Tom Stevens, and Greg Sowders (Drums). The band were powerfully influenced of The Byrds, The Flying Burrito Brothers and Buffalo Springfield. Originally associated with a movement called the Paisley Underground, with a sound of Rubber Soul-Era Beatles, Electric Bob Dylan, Buffalo Springfield and The Flying Burrito Brothers. The band's sound like The Dream Syndicate, The Rain Parade, Green On Red and R.E.M.
