Midnight Oil are an Australian Rock Band from Sydney, New South Wales, formed 1972 by Peter Garret (Lead Vocals, Harmonica), Jim Moginie (Guiiar, Keyboards, Backing Vocals), Andrew James (Bass, Backing Vocals), and Rob Hirst (Drums, Backing Vocals).  They have won eleven ARIA Awards and were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2006.  Guardian writer Andrew Street described Midnight Oil as "One Of Australia's most beloved bands".
