His career worked as a guitar instructor in early time and many former students are Steve Vai (Ex Frank Zappa, Alcatrazz David Lee Roth, Whitesnake), Kirk Hammett (Metallica), Andy Timmons (Ex Danger Danger), Charlie Hunter (Ex The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy, The Coalition Of The Willing and his own band Charlie Hunter Trio), Larry LaLonde (Ex Possessed, Blind Illusion, Corrupted Morals, Primus), Rick Hunolt (Ex Exodus), Kevin Cadogan (Ex Third Eye Blind) and Alex Skolnick (Ex Testament, Savatage, and his own band Alex Skolnick Trio). In 1988 he was recruited by Mick Jagger for his first solo tour, In 1994 toured with Deep Purple, In 1995 with G3 collaborators have included Steve Vai, Steve Lukather, John Petrucci , Eric Johnson, Yngwie Malmsteen, Brian May, Patrick Rondat, Paul Gilbert, Adrian Legg, Steve Morse, Larry LaLonde, Andy Timmons and Robert Fripp. He formed The Supergroup Chickenfoot with Sammy Hagar (Vocals, Guitar Ex Montrose, Van Halen), Michael Anthony (Bass Ex Van Halen) and Chad Smith (Drums Ex Red Hot Chili Peppers).
