The Chantels are an American Pop Music Group from The Bronx, New York, formed in 1957 by Arleane Smith (Lead Vocals), Sonia Goring Wilson (Vocals), Renee Minus White (Vocals), Jackie Landry Jackson (Vocals), and Lois Harris (Vocals).  They are the third African American Girl Group to enjoy nationwide success in USA.  They were inducted into The Vocal Group Hall Of Fame in 2002.
