Anita O'Day was an American Jazz Singer from Kansas City, Missouri, and raised in Chicago, Illinois, during the Great Depression. She had worked with Gene Krupa, Max Miller Quartet, Roy Eldridge, Woody Herman, Stan Kenton. She performed at Jazz Festivals and Jazz-Oriented Concerts, appearing with figures including Louis Armstrong, Thelonious Monk and George Shearing, her successful Vocal Artists of the time by Frank Sinatra Ella Fitzgerald. She also worked with Billy May, The Oscar Peterson Quartet, Jimmy Gluffre and Cal Tjader.
