Joh Lord was an English Composer, Pianist and Hammond Organ Player, best-known as Keyboards of one of the best Hard Rock Group Deep Purple, besides his works with Whitesnake, Paice, Ashton & Lord, The Artwoods and Flower Pot Men.

In 1968,  Joh Lord founded Deep Purple, he wrote the organ riff on "Child In Time", he retired from Deep Purple in 2002.  In 2011, he was granted an Honorary Doctor Of Music Degree by his home town's University of Leicester.  He died on 16th July, 2012 after suffering from pancreatic cancer at the London Clinic.
