13th Floor Elevators was an American Rock Band from Austin, Texas formed in 1965m by Roky Erickson (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Tommy Hall (Electric Jug), Stacy Sutherland (Lead Guitar), Benny Thurman (Bass) , and John Ike Walton (Drums).  The band were the first band to refer to their music as Psychedelic Rock and influence has been acknowledged by musicians such as ZZ Top and Big Brother And The Holding Company.
