Vinegar Joe were an English Blues Rock Band from London, formed in 1971, by Elkie Brooks (Vocals), Robert Palmer (Vocals, Guitar Ex The Alan Brown Set), Pete Gage (Guitar, Piano), and Steve York (Bass, Harmonica).  One of the great British bands of the early 1970s, to answer to The Allman Brothers Band or Wet Willie.  They released three albums on Island Records, but were best known for their live shows and launching the solo career of Elkie Brooks and Robert Palmer.
