Herb Ellis was an American Jazz Guitarist from Farmersville, Texas. During the 1950s, he was in a trio with pianist Oscar Peterson. He toured a bit with Ella Fitzgerald, and became a studio musician on the West Coast, and made sessions with The Dukes of Dixieland, Stuff Smith, and Charlie Byrd. In the 1970s became much more active in the Jazz World, and with Joe Pass for the first three release issued by Concord Label, and the toured with The Great Guitars (along with Charlie Byrd and Barney Kessel).
