Soulfly is an American Heavy Metal Band from Phoenix, Arizona, formed in 1997 by Max Cavalera (Vocals, Guitar Ex Sepultura), who formed the band after he left the Brazilian Group in 1996.  The band has gone through numerous line-up changes, with Max Cavalera being the only constant member.  Soulfly incorporates many styles of Heavy Metal with Thrash Metal, Death Metal, Groove Metal, Nu Metal, Alternative Metal,  Brazilian Tribal, and World Music.
