Roy Brooks was an American Jazz Drummer from Detroit, Michigan. He was born in Detroit and drummed since childhood, his earliest experiences of music coming through his mother, who sang in church. He was the one of the premier drummer/percussionist to emerge from the Hard Bop generation. He spent and worked with Horace Silver Quintet, Yusef Lateef and Chet Baker, that making him perfect.
