Stanley Turrentine was an American Jazz Tenor Saxophonist. He began his career playing Soul Jazz and Hard Bop on a series of classic albums for Blue Note Records, and touched on Jazz Fusion, and Blues. He played with Ray Charles, Max Roach's band and met Shirley Scott (Organ), whom he married in 1960. He also played with Jimmy Smith, Freddie Hubbard, Mitt Jackson, George Benson, Bob James, Richard Tee, Ron Carter, Grant Green and Eric Gale.
