Phil Odgers is a Scottish Folk Rock Singer and Songwriter, born in Oban in Scotland to an Irish mother and a Yorkshire father and rerouted to the South of England as a child. Best known for being one half of Folk-Rebel-Rockers The Men They Couldn't Hang formed in 1984. His surname comes from Scandinavia and is a Viking name for Wealth Spear. His writing style tells life stories with a conscience and a heart and he addresses political issues of inequality, unfairness and a political system that rewards the rich and penalises the poor.
