Yngwie Malmsteen is a Swedish Guitarist, Songwriter, Multi-Instrumentalist, his most important guitar influence, Ritchie Blackmore, Uli Jon Roth and Brian May.  He became known for his Neo-Classical playing style in Heavy Metal.  He played briefly with Steeler, then appeared on Graham Bonnet's album Alcatrazz in 1983 and he released his first solo album Rising Force in 1984.  His Neo-Classical Metal style became popular among some guitarist during the mid-1980s, such as Marty Friedman, Jason Becker, Tony MacAlpine, Vinnie Moore and Paul Gilbert.  In 1988, Malmsteen's signature Fender Stratocaster guitar was released, making him and Eric Clapton the first artists to be honored by Fender.
