Robert Palmer was an English Singer, Songwriter, Musician and Record Producer. He was known for his powerful and soulful voice, combining Soul, Jazz, Rock, Pop, Reggae, and Blues. He was the singer of The Alan Bown Set at the age of 19, and the group soon changed its name to Vinegar Joe, after he left the band to mount a solo career, recorded with members of Little Feat and The Meters. In 1983, he teamed with the Duran Duran side project Power Station. e received a number of Awards throughout his career including 2 Grammy Awards for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance, and MTV Video Music Award and 2 Brit Award nominations for Best British Male Solo Artist. He died aged 54, following a hear attack on September 26, 2003.
