John Prine is an American Folk/Country Singer and Songwriter from Maywood, Illinois.  He has been active as a composer, recording artists, and live performer since the early 1970s.  Becoming a part of the city's Folk Revival, he was discovered by Kris Kristofferson, later he signed to Asylum Records and recorded three albums.  Widely cited as one of the most influential songwriter of his generation.
