Whitesnake is a British Hard Rock Band from Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, formed in 1978 by David Coverdale after he left from Deep Purple with his backing band The White Snake Band on his solo album tour White Snake, after 2 solo albums, he decided to form Whitesnake Band was made up of David Coverdale (Vocals), Bernie Marsden (Guitar), Mick Moody (Guitar), Neil Murray (Bass), David "Duck" Dowie (Drums) and Brian Johnston (Keyboards), Johnston would soon be replaced by Procol Harum Organ Player and Keyboards Pete Solley. Whitesnake had moved to more commercial Hard Rock Style and four of the band's earliest albums reached to top 10 in the UK Charts and worldwide commercially successful songs: "Here I Go Again", "Still Of The Night", and "Is This Love". In 1988, Whitesnake was nominated for the Brit Award for The Best British Group and in 2005, Whitesnake was named the 85th Greatest Hard Rock Band of All Time by VH1.
