Ron Carter is an American Jazz World Class Double Bassist from Femdale, Michigan.  He is also played Cello.  He's close to being the Bass equivalent of a Duke Ellington, he is nearly as accomplished in Classical Music as Jazz, and has performed with Symphony Orchestras all over the world.  Famously, he was a member of Miles Davis's second great quintet of the 60s.
