Kenny Dorham was an American Jazz Trumpeter, Singer and Composer from Fairfield, Texas.  He was recruited by Dizzy Gillesple and Billy Eckstine to join their bands in the mid-'40s.  He ever sang Blues with Dizzy Gillesple's band.  He joined  Charlie Parker's group in 1948.  He also played with Charles Mingus, Max Roach, Cecil Payne, Hank Mobley, Horace Silver in 1965.  He was a founding member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers in 1954.  He composed the Jazz Standard "Blue Bossa", which first appeared on Joe Henderson's album Page One.
