New Riders Of The Purple Sage is an American Country Rock Band from San Francisco, California, formed in 1969 and original line-up included several members of The Grateful Dead:  Jerry Garcia (Pedal Steel Guitar, Guitar, Vocals), Phil Lesh (Bass), and Mickey Hart (Drums), with John Dawson (Guitar, Vocals) and David Nelson (Guitar, Vocals).  Their best known song is "Panama Red".
