Blind Guardian is a German Power Metal Band formed in the mid-1980s in Krefeld, West Germany by Hansi Kursch (Lead Vocals, Bass), Andre Olbrich  (Lead Guitar), Markus Dork (Guitar) and Thomas "Thomen" Stauch (Drums) under the name Lucifer's Heritage, after signed a contract with No Remorse Records, and the band changed their name to Blind Guardian.  In 1991 the band signed with Virgin Records.  The band released 9 studio albums, 2 Live albums and 2 Compilation albums.

Legacy Of The Dark Lands is the eleventh studio album by Blind Guardian, released on November 8, 2019 by Nuclear Blast.  The idea to record an Orchestral album originally formed in the minds of the two leading lights of The Blind Guardian universe - Andre Olbrich (Guitar) and Hansi Kursch (Vocals), during the 1990s when the band started to use Orchestral elements to enchance their opulent sound.
