Tangerine Dream is a German Electronic Music Band from West Berlin, Germany, founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese (Guitars). The group has been many personnel changed over the years, with Edgar Froese having been the only continuous member until his death in January 2015. The best known line-up of the group was its mid-70s Trio of Edgar Froese (Keyboards, Guitars), Christopher Franks (Keyboards, Drums), and Peter Baumann (Keyboards). Tangerine Dream are considered pioneers of the early days of Electronica, and in the development of the German Musical Scene known as Kosmische (Cosmis). Their music has made an impact on Ambient, New Age, Techno, Trance and Progressive Rock, as well as Modern Film Score Composition.
