Doug Raney was an American Jazz Guitarist. He was the son of Jazz Guitarist Jimmy Raney. He was born in New York City, and he began to play the guitar when he was 14, beginning with Rock and Blues, and became more interested in Jazz. He moved to Copenhagen, Denmark when he was 21, to record his first album, Introducing Doug Raney for the SteepleChase Label in 1977. He worked with Chet Baker, Tal Farlow, Dexter Gordon, Johnny Griffin, Clifford Jordan, and many more!.
