Dio was an American Heavy Metal Band formed in 1982 by Ronnie James Dio (Vocals Ex ELF, Rainbow, Black Sabbath), after he left Black Sabbath, with Vinny Appice (Drums Ex Axis, Black Sabbath), along with Vivian Campbell (Guitar Ex Sweet Savage, later with Def Leppard, Hear 'N' Aid, Last In Line, Riverdogs, Shadow King, Thin Lizzy Whitesnake) and Jimmy Bain (Bass Ex Rainbow, Wild Horses) to form the band called Dio. The Band dissolved in 2010 when Ronnie James Dio died of stomach cancer at the age of 67.
