Freddie Hubbard was an American Jazz Trumpeter.  He was known for playing in the Bebop, Hard Bop and Post-Bop Styles from the early 1960s onwards.  He was at the age of 20, he began playing with some of the best Jazz players of the era, including Philly Joe Jones, Sonny Rollins, Slide Hampton, Eric Dolphy, J.J. Johnson, and Quincy Jones.

Open Sesame is the debut album by Freddie Hubbard, originally released in 1960 by Blue Note Records, remastered and reissued on February 4, 2002 by Blue Note Records, featuring Tina Brooks, McCoy Tyner, Sam Jones and Clifford Jarvis.  The Penguin Guide to Jazz has included Open Sesame as part of a selected "Core Collection", and has summarized the album as "A Great Blue Note Set".
