Otis Redding was an American Singer, Songwriter, Record Producer.  He is the one of the most influential Soul Singers of the 1960s and he is considered one of the Greatest Singers in the history of American Popular Music and a seminal artist in Soul Music and Rhythm & Blues.  The album The Dock Of The Bay was the first album to reach No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart.  He received Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and the Songwriter Hall Of Fame.  He died on December 10, 1967 in a plane crash.
