The Band was a Canadian-American Roots Rock Group from Toronto, Ontario, formed 1964, consisted of Rick Danko (Bass, Vpcals), Robbie Robertson (Guitar, Vocals), Richard Manuel (Piano, Saxophone, Trumpet), Garth Hudson (Keyboards, Saxophone) and Levon Helm (Drums, Mandolin, Vocals). All members came together as backup of Ronnie Hawkin's Group. The debut album Music From Big Pink in 1968. The band was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame in 1989 and the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1994. In 2004, in the list of the 100 Greatest Artist Of All Time in Rolling Stone Magazine, and "The Weight" was ranked the 41st Best Song Of All Time in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs Of All Time List, and in 2008, they received the Grammy's Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2014, The Band was inducted into Canada's Walk Of Fame.
