P.O.D. is an American Alternative Metal Band from San Diego, California, formed in 1992 by Sonny Sandoval (Lead Vocals), Wuv Bernardo (Drums), Marcos Curiel (Guitar), and Gabe Portillo (Bass).  The band has received three Grammy Award nominations, and contributed to numerous Motion Picture Soundtracks.  Their third studio album, The Fundamental Elements Of Southtown, they achieved their initial mainstream success, and got certified Platinum by the RIAA in 2000.  The band got "Favorite Contemporary Inspirattional Artist (Nomination) in 2003 by Americann Music Awards, "International Alternative Group Of The Year" in 2003 by Echo Awards, and "Best Hard Rock Artist" in 1999 and 2000 by San Diego Music Awards.
