Mad Season was an American Rock Supergroup from Seattle, Washington, formed in 1994 by members of three popular Seattle-based bands:  Layne Staley (Vocals of Alice In Chains), Mike McCready (Guitar of Pearl Jam), and Barrett Martin (Drums of The Screaming Trees), and John Baker Saunders (Drums).  The band dissolved following the death of bassist John Baker Saunders in 1999, and Layne Staley died three years later.

Sonic Evolution is the live album by Mad Season & Seattle Symphony, was released on August 28, 2015 by Monkeywrench Records, recorded live at Benaroya Hall in Seattle, WA.  Mad Season performed a special show with the Seattle Symphony.  Mad Season lineup for this performance included surviving members:  Mike McCready and Barrett Martin and featured Chris Cornell (Vocals), Duff McKagan (Bass), Jeff Angell (Vocals), Kim Virant (Vocals), included:  Temple Of The Dog:   Matt Cameron, Stone Gossard, and Jeff Ament and Skerik (Saxophone) and Alice In Chains member Sean Kinney.
