Kiss is an American Hard Rock Band from New York City, New York, formed in 1973 by Paul Stanley (Guitar, Vocals), Gene Simons (Bass, Vocals), Ace Frehley (Guitar, Vocals) and Peter Criss (Drums, Vocals).  With their make-up and costumes, they took on the personas of comic book-style characters:  The Starchild (Paul Stanley), The Demon (Gene Simons), The Spaceman or Space Ace (Ace Frehley) and The Catman (Peter Criss).  Kiss has been named in many "Top" Lists, include No. 10 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock, No. 9 on The Greatest Metal Bands' list by MTV, No. 1 on Hit Paraders's "Top 100 Live Bands", No. 56 on VH1's "100 Greates Artists Of All Time", No. 26 on Gibson's "50 Greatest American Rock Bands".  In 2014, Kiss was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Lafayette Music Room, Memphis, April 18, 1974 is the radio broadcast captures Kiss on fiery form at the outset of their career, just weeks after the release of their classic debut album.  Taped for airplay on Memphis's WMC FM-100 station it's a historical documment of the quartet before superstardom, and is presented with background notes and images, was released on May 4, 2015 by Keyhole.
