Europe is a Swedish Hard Rock Band from Upplands Vasby, Stockholm, formed in 1979 by Joey Tempest (Vocals), John Norum (Guitar), Peter Olsson (Bass) and Tony Reno (Drums).  The band is mainly influenced by Whitesnake, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, UFO, and Michael Schenker Group.  Europe rose to international in the 1980s with the third album The Final Countdown in 1986, which became commercial success and sold over three million copies in the U.S.  The band was a pioneering force in the Glam Metal and Blue Metal Genres and considered album The Final Countdown is a masterpiece of the Genres and made Europe became one of the most successful Rock acts of the 1980s and sold over 20 albums on the The Billboard 200 Chart and two top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart "The Final Countdown" and "Carrie".
