Their music crosses many genres such as Jazz, Latin, Classic Pop, World Music, Old Fashioned Pop and Lounge Music, and the Lead Vocalist and principal songwriter for Pink Martini is China Forbes. Pink Martini's debut album "Sympathique" was released in 1997 on the band's own label Heinz Records, and quickly became international success, and the group nominations for "Song Of The Year" and "Best New Artist" in France's Victories de la Musique Awards in 2000.

Dream A Little Dream is the new studio album by Pink Martini & The Von Trapps, was released on March 4d, 2014 by Heinz Records, with members of the von Trapps family include Sofia, Melanie, Amanda and August von Trapp are the actual great grandchildren of Baron & Maria von Trapp, made famous by the 1965 film The Sound Of Music. The album will features guests Charmian Carr, Jack Hanna, The Chieftians and Wayne Newton. Three of the songs were written by August von Trapp.
