Rory Gallagher was an Irish Blues Rock Guitarist, Singer and Songwriter.  He was initially attracted to Skiffle after hearing Lonnie Donegan, and always covered Blues and Folk and playing songs of Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran with his greatest influences in Muddy Waters, Woody Guthrie, Lead Belly, Big Bill Broonzy.  He began to learn to play Bass, Banjo, Madolin, Alto Saxophone and Sitar.  He formed Blues Rock Power Trio Band The Taste in 1966 and played supporting Cream at Royal Albert Hall farewell concert and the Blues Rock Supergroup Blind Faith on a tour of North America.  After The Taste break-up, he started his solo career.  His albums have sold in excess of 30 million copies worldwide.  He received a Liver Transplant and died in 1995 in London, England at the age of 47.
