Richard Thompson is a British Songwriter, Singer and Guitarist,  He started and made his debut album with Fairport Convention in 1967.  He was awarded the Orville H. Gibson award for The Best Acoustic Guitar Player in 1991 and the Artists who have recorded Thompson's compositions such as R.E.M., David Gilmour, Mary Black, Elvis Costello, The Corrs, Loudon Wainwright III, Maria McKee, Bonnie Raitt, Sandy Denny, Nanci Griffith, Graham Parker, The Pointer Sisters, Los Lobos, The Neville Brothers, Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss and Union Station and many more.
