Alan Wilson ("Blind Owl") was the leader, Singer, Composer of the American Blues Rock Band Canned Heat, his name "Blind Owl".  He and his band Canned Heat performed two concerts at The Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 and Woodstock in 1969.  He sang the classic track "Going Up The Country" and also wrote "On The Road Again".   Stephen Stills' song "Blues Man" from the album Manassas is dedicated to Alan Wilson, along with Jimi Hendrix and Duane Allman.  He died in Topanga Canyonm California of a drug overdose at age 27.
