Ronnie James Dio's musical career began in 1957, in New York formed the band The Vegas Kings, and in 1958 changed their name to Ronnie & The Rumblers, and changed again to Ronnie And The Redcaps and in 1960 the band changed their name again to Ronnie Dio And The Prophets. In 1967 Ronnie Dio and Nick Pantas started a new band called The Electric Elves, and shortened their name to ELF in 1972, and went on to become an opening act for Deep Purple. ELF recorded and released three albums, Dio joined with Rainbow, also he performed with others, Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell and his own band Dio, he became Heavy Metal's Legendary frontman. He died on May 16, 2010 (Aged 67) of stomach cancer, in Houston, Texas, USA.
