Mike Pornoy is an American Drummer, well-known as the former Drummer, Backing Vocals and a Co-Founder of theProgressive Metal Band Dream Theater.  He is known of drumming technical skill, he has won 26 Awards from the Modern Drummer Magazine and inducted into the Modern Drummer's Hall of Fame.

Besides his work with Dream Theater, he is known for many side projects and tribute bands, he is a founding member of Liquid Tension Experiment with Dream Theater member John Petrucci (Guitar) and Jordan Rudess (Keyboards) along with Tony Levin (Bass), he is also a founding member of Transatlantic, a Progressive Rock Supergroup, featuring Neal Morse (Keyboards and Vocals from Spock's Beard), Roine Stolt (Guitar from Flower Kings) and Pete Trewavas (Bass from Marillion), he has also played, recorded and toured/performed live with Neal Morse, OSI, Stone Sour, Fates Warning, Overkill, G3 and many more.

He had left Dream Theater in September 2010 after 25 years, was replaced by Mike Mangini.
