Beachwood Sparks are an American Alternative Country Rock Band from Los Angeles, formed by Brent Rademaker (Bass), Christopher Gunst (Guitar), Dave Scher (Guitar) and Jimi Hey (Drums) in 1997, Hey left after a few shows and was replaced by Tom Sanford, and Sanford left in 1998 and was replaced by Aaron Sperske, Sperske left in 2002 and was replaced by returning of Jimi Hey.

In 2000, Beachwood Sparks released the first album Beachwood Sparks, their melody and harmonies as Country Rock to compare with The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield and Gram Parsons.

In 2002, the band has mostly concentracted on other projects: 
-Christopher Gunst formed Mystic Chords of Memory.
-Brent Rademaker, sometimes with Gunst and Scher, plays in The Tyde and also in Franusdots.
-Jimi Hey and Dave Scher released an album All Night Radio in 2007.
-Dave Scher was touring with Indie Rockers Interpol.
-Aaron Sperske joined Ariel Pink's haunted Graffiti.

Beachwood Sparks reunited in 2008 to play on the celebration of Sub Pop's 20th Anniversary.  The reunion line-up was Gunst, Rademaker, Sperske, Ben Knight, Jen Cohen and Dan Horne.

In 2012, Beachwood Sparks released the album The Tarnished Gold
