Longdancer was a British Folk Rock Band formed early 1970, by David Stewart (of Eurythmics) grew out of a folk duo comprising Stewart and Brian Harrison.  Afterwards they added further Singer/Guitarists Steve Sproxton and Kai Olsson and re-named Longdancer in 1973, and they became the first artists to signto Elton John's Rocket Label, touring with John before Olsson left to be replaced by Matt Irving (Keyboards) and Charlie Smith (Drums).  The new line-up made a second album 1974.  Afterwards, Longdacer split up.


In 1977, Stewart formed The Tourists and in 1981, with Annie Lennox, the highly successful Enrythmics.

If It Was So Simple was the first album of a British Folk Rock Band released in 1973, and the two best tracks "Trivialities" and "Take A Man".
